My maternal grandmother used to say "I Swanee" for my goodness. And today that is all I can say. The governor of our state Sonny Perdue has cancelled school for Monday and Tuesday (as I type this, I just heard it announced on CNN, isn't up on their web site yet). I have NEVER seen school cancelled for such a thing, but because of the gas crisis and the fact that the refineries in the gulf will most likely sustain damage from Hurricane Rita, he has issued a mandate that schools be closed. All I can say is that this must be more serious than we ever imagined.
Wow......I am "speechless"

Wow. That is way different than just a snow day. Scary.
My grandmother used to say "I'll Swan." Her most vivid memory of childhood was being spanked for cursing for it. Things have really changed!
I heard this announcement on the radio yesterday, here in California, and I was just as amazed... what will happen next? I hope you get to knit. I am praying for those in Rita's path, and waiting to hear about some friends near the TX/LA border.
