This year Christmas falls on a Sunday and guess what? Yup, there are churches that will be closed on that day. Read on.....

Thankfully, our little church with the red doors WILL be.... it's Sunday and a Feast day.

hey Cathy.... yeah, that church is near me, but i don't attend it. i was absolutely FLOORED when i heard that on the radio. I mean, that has got to be the biggest church in the area, with many satellites, and WOW. to be onest, i do not like that church. it gives me bad vibes...i never felt welcome when i attended a service, although i do enjoy the various pastors. i don't know what to think....
as fo rmy little 'ol church (congregation of 350 at most), we have one service instead of 2...that makes more sense. get us in and out and home to families. i do believe willow's excuse was so that people spend more time with family...

Blows my mind away that they aren't having church on Sunday AND on Christmas.
Plus, I know there are people that like it, but I can't imagine going to that size church - I would be a lost soul....

I'm not sure why the MSM is making an issue of this. There are many "seeker" churches that don't have Sunday services, they have Saturday night. Many Catholic churches have Sat. night services on a regular basis, and I'm assuming those folks don't go on Sunday. It seems odd to me (I'll be serving communion Christmas day, and what a joy). However, God didn't actually assign holy days in the N.T. like he did in the O.T.
well yeah. willow has saturday services, and then repeat them on sunday. i attend Harvest Bible Chapel most Saturdays, which is the same concept. but i still greatly enjoy attending a small church on sunday morns
I've been puzzling about this.
my blogger friend Gayla said that it's usual that some churches in the US dont have a regular service on Christmas Day and that he fuss is that it's on a Sunday this year
it struck me as sad and odd
here we have services on Sundays whatever
and we have a Christmas day morning service whatever
after all worshipping God together as a family on Christmas Day and at Easter (Sunday especially, but also good friday) might be among the most significant things we do.
I think the churches are WRONG to do this. That said if they don't usually bother at christmas, well why bother this year! sigh
I do hope their congregations are then taught how to make Christ part of their Christmas day celebrations.
