Knitting, Felting, using 2 circulars

I am furiously working on bazaar projects for our church bazaar. I completed the icords for the Booga UGA purse and need to felt them.

Last night I began a inside boot using a pattern from Cat Bordhi's book Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles: a Manual of Elegant Knitting Techniques and Patterns . Notice it is 12 inches long and will swallow my foot. Once felted it should be where a size 8-9 felted boot. Twill see if I followed the directions correctly.

I also got a tiny notion to embellish it, so I decorated the top of the foot with this:

Now I need to get a move on with the second boot or I will be selling this to a one footed person.

Wizard of Oz is being shown on TBS over and over again - they are celebrating their new digitized version of the movie. I still don't like the wicked witch, but I am brave enough to stay in the room now. I still get that scared feeling when they mantra "Lion Tigers and Bears, oh my is being said.

Does anyone remember the knitter on the movie???

I love the Wizard of OZ - grew up on it. There were three shows I was allowed to stay up late for - The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Christmas & Frosty (shown on the same night usually so I count them as 1) and the Wizard of Oz. I was also allowed to make Jiffy Pop on the stove so it was a banner evening for me ;o)

However, I don't remember a knitter...was it in the Emerald City?

Or is it Aunt Em?

Goodness! Was there a knitter? I have to say that the movie scared me senseless when I was a kid, so it isn't my all time favorite, but a knitter? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Your boots are lovely and I like the embellishment. Are you going to felt it with the embellishment on it already? will it felt along with the boot? I'm getting ready to make my first pair of "fuzzy feet"
Have a happy Monday!

Whoops, I went away without also saying I love the embellishment and Cat Bordhi's book is near the top of things I want to buy (or hint directly to husband for Christmas). I can't wait to see how these turn out!

It's Auntie Em in the stream of images that Dorothy "sees" in the twister, right?
Can't wait to see the outcome of the felting!

Hi -
I saw a woman knitting in the stream of images in the tornado. Didn't notice if it was Auntie Em or not.
Helen, I am felting the slipper(s) - and it calls to embroider them prior to felting to give it a more subtle look. Hope it all felts at the same time!
I love getting these comments when I get home! I was so excited - doesn't take much to thrill me!
